Position Overview
Sovereign Care Services is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services across early childhood settings, including childcare centers, preschools, and community-based environments throughout Central New Jersey.
This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position, offering flexibility, autonomy, and competitive hourly compensation for direct services delivered.
Service Settings
Services may be provided across:
- Childcare centers
- Preschools
- Early learning programs
- Community-based settings
- Occasional in-home (if applicable)
Assignments are offered based on provider availability and may vary by location.
Compensation Structure (Direct Service Model)
- $65–$80 per direct therapy hour
- Paid for documented, delivered services only
- Weekly invoicing
- Flexible caseload based on accepted assignments
Compensation is tied to services rendered, not scheduled time.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language therapy services for children ages 0–5
- Conduct evaluations when assigned
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Complete documentation in accordance with:
- NJDOE / early childhood standards
- Program requirements
- Agency timelines
- Collaborate with childcare staff and families
Ideal Candidate

Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist license
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred (CF considered if structured appropriately)
- Early intervention or preschool experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Independent Contractor (1099) Structure
This role is offered exclusively as a 1099 independent contractor position.
- Contractor retains control over clinical methods and service delivery
- Contractor may accept or decline assignments
- Contractor may provide services to other clients or agencies
- Contractor is responsible for taxes, insurance, and licensure
Assignments are not guaranteed and are based on program needs and availability.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Timely completion of session notes (24–48 hours)
- Adherence to program and regulatory standards
- NJ background clearance (if required by setting)
- Execution of Independent Contractor Agreement prior to start
