Job Description:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is an employee of The Children SPOT Inc. The RBT therapist is a professional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. The RBT therapist is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services in the home and/or center. A BCBA provides supervision to the RBT therapist and is responsible for the work performed by the RBT on the cases they are overseeing.
Availability:
- Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, after-school for clients that attend school, and evenings on weekdays; weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Possess a minimum of a high school degree or equivalent.
- Have obtained certification as a Registered Behavior Technician Board Certified (RBT) as verified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board or eligible to become an RBT
- A minimum of two years’ experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with various special needs.
Knowledge of:
- Experience and knowledge of basic behavioral terminology and teaching procedures with children, adolescents, and/or adults with special needs.
- Interpersonal skills needed to manage crisis situations.
- Technology, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Skills and Abilities to:
- Accept constructive feedback from supervisors and implement recommendations.
- Implement behavior programs and work independently with clients.
- Use an electronic medical record system to maintain session notes and a calendar.
- Record data and input notes
- Assess situations and make proper judgments to effectively manage the situation.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage maladaptive behaviors of clients.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Maintain professional license(s) and be in good standing with the respective licensing agency(ies).
Job Duties:
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements under the supervision of a BCBA
- Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Collect data on all programming and writes progress notes on observable client behavior.
- Utilize electronic medical record system to maintain client records/notes.
- Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA.
- Utilize safe & appropriate behavior management procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Observes confidentiality and safeguards for all patient related information.
- Immediately reports to BCBA any patient incidents/variances or complaints, changes in schedule, etc.
- Collaborate with treatment team to improve outcomes for their clients.
- Attend and participate in staff trainings and meetings
- Adhere to ethical guidelines in the set forth by the BACB.

- New staff orientation
- First Aid/CPR/AED
