Comprehensive Speech and Therapy Center, Inc (CSTC) has been committed to excellence in therapy for people of all ages and stages of life in Jackson County since 2004. Offering Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) all under once roof. The owners, Julie Pratt and Sherry Riedel are both Speech Language Pathologists who live and raise their families right here in Jackson County. Qualifications 

  • Is a graduate of an approved physical therapy curriculum and is licensed as a physical therapist by the State of Michigan. 

Competencies (Skills, knowledge and experience)

  • Minimum entry level clinical skills and knowledge
  • Thoroughness and Resourcefulness 
    • In treatment and documentation, collaborating with co-workers and by referring to policies prior to asking for verbal direction. 
  • Organization of Work and Time 
    • Able to manage time including treatment and paperwork, etc. 
  • Effective Work Habits 
    • Takes initiative to help and make positive changes independently, is adaptable to schedule changes, is dependable, shows good judgement, and is aware of how work duties impact the clinic, clients and coworkers. 
  • Cooperation and Working with Others 
    • Uses the chain of command appropriately, implements changes based on supervisor feedback.
  • Discretion in Distribution of Information 
    • Remains in compliance with HIPAA, discusses client cases in appropriate places with specific coworkers with appropriate and professional language.
  • Communication Skills 
    • Accurate, clear, organized and timely communication of information including daily notes, POCs, emails, verbal, phone and text. 
  • Ongoing evaluation of clinical competencies are required. 

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and implements physicians’ orders. 
  • Plans the physical therapy treatment program and coordinates services with other disciplines.  
  • Develops short and long-term goals for the patient in cooperation with the patient and the patient's physician. 
  • Prepares and maintains clinical records. 
  • Confers with the patient’s physician in regard to the patient’s status, care and progress. 
  • Provides general supervision to the physical therapist assistants in accordance with the State of Michigan and Medicare regulations. 
  • Retain responsibility for supportive personnel. 
  • Provides direct supervision of supportive personnel in the immediate vicinity and is available to provide assistance and direction throughout the time services are provided. 
  • Participates in patient care conferences as necessary to coordinate care with other members of the professional care team. 
  • Provides in service training as requested. 
  • Engages in professional growth activities including workshops and seminars. 
  • Make equipment recommendations for patients. 
  • Provides all services listed under physical therapy in the policy manual. 
  • Attend the Patient Care Advisory Group, Clinical Record Review Committee and/or other meetings as directed by a supervisor. 
  • Maintains a caseload scheduled at 80% productivity with a target of 60% actual productivity.
