Sovereign Care Services Pediatric Therapy Center is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals committed to providing functional and purposeful ABA Therapy in North Brunswick NJ for children 18 months-17 years old and adults 18-21 years old, with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD) diagnosis.

Position Description: 

In addition to the role of a BCBA and carrying a caseload of 20 billable hours, the Clinical Manager is primarily responsible for providing and overseeing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services in the center, home, and community settings. The Clinical Manager works closely with the Home based program supervisor, Training Supervisor, and BCBAs to ensure quality control and uniformed implementation of programming that adheres to the BACB guidelines.

Job Functions 

Ensuring that clinicians can implement ABA programming with integrity and provide support for BCBAs to improve clinical competencies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Identifies and implements quality control measures while supporting staff to provide exceptional services. Services include Caregiver Guidance, Behavior Consultation, Assessments, and Behavior Change Interventions based on the science of behavior analysis 
  • Utilizes the science of behavior analysis to teach skills to direct reports, their supervisees, and caregivers 
  • Prepares topics, maintains accurate records (ie. agenda/notes), and runs scheduled meetings including: weekly meetings with the leadership team and direct reports, monthly individual supervision with direct reports, monthly team meetings, and other department meetings as assigned 
  • Completes monthly direct observation of BCBAs, providing feedback on performance, ensuring satisfactory implementation of treatment protocols, program development, and supervision of Behavior Technician/Registered Behavior Technicians. Direct observation includes on-site, live-virtual and recorded sessions. 
  • Implements strategies to support clinical staff in meeting and exceeding expectations. Strategies include providing feedback, training and coaching on behavior-analytic strategies as appropriate, and implementing performance improvement plans. 
  • Provides direct supervision to Behavior Analysts and R/BTs 
  • Provides crisis management support during sessions and general treatment center coverage 

Maintains administrative and non-clinical functions to ensure continued success of families served, treatment team, employee and organization as a whole. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains appropriate written documentation of supervision and team meetings including discussion of clinical programming, performance goals, expectations and corrective feedback when applicable.
  • Attends assigned training, performance meetings, monthly supervision meetings, monthly team meetings, supervision meetings with the Supervising BCBAs and other administrative meetings as assigned. 
  • Operates as a mandated reporter, maintaining awareness of signs or reports of suspected abuse or neglect and reporting to the appropriate state reporting line 
  • Supports the management of current services, supports the development of new programs (Social Skills, Home Based ABA, etc.) 
  • Participates in committees ( Ethics, Cultural Competence, DEI etc) 
  • Participates in clinical-based initiatives/projects 
  • Ensures agency compliance with funders, regulatory, and BACB guidelines. 

Engages in professional development activities and supports the professional development of Sovereign Care Services’ team members through approved supervision activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Develops and maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis through interaction with other ABA based professionals as well as ongoing professional development opportunities within and outside of Sovereign Care Services and maintains certification by meeting training and supervision standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board 
  • Collaborates with Training Supervisor- BCBA and team members to promote the ongoing professional development of direct reports and other clinical professionals within the organization 
  • Offers BACB supervision experience opportunities to BCBA Candidates 

Conduct quality assurance and assist with creating department metrics and report measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Clinical documentation review for insurance payers and audits 
  • Conduct daily audits of patient demographic information and all quality measures and provide staff feedback. 
  • Review scanned registrations documentation such as intake packets, etc. to ensure full completion by patient. 
  • Assist with training staff on new procedures to improve QA 
  • Assist with updates of standard operating procedures yearly or as needed to achieve QA standard 
  • Assessment coordination and treatment plan review 
  • Review sessions notes and provide proper feedback 
  • Support all clinical functions in Central Reach 
  • Create clinical templates as necessary 
  • Review clinical programming and development
  • Develop employee training programs targeting clinical quality measures including clinical assessments, treatment planning, program planning and goal identification 
  • Collaborate with clinicians and administrative team to assist with various projects 
  • Ensure parent and family involvement that aligns with current research and standards 
  • Evaluate individual client treatment plans to ensure relevant clinical recommendations are targeted and provide ongoing feedback 
  • Ensures that the modules to treatment are evidence based 
  • Review, approve, and pull BCBAs weekly billable hours via Central Reach to ensure codes are being used appropriately 
  • Ensure that clinical services are provided as specified in the client’s treatment plan 

Clinical Manager Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Applied Behavior Analysis 
  • Two years supervisory experience 
  • Applicants must have an active BCBA certificate 
  • Criminal record clearance 
  • Child Abuse Record Information clearance 
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record. 
  • Must be able to provide Liability Insurance coverage 
  • Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations and clear TB testing based on company policies. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CPR certificate 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI). 
  • Must attend any required training. 

BCBA Requirements

As a BCBA you are challenged to remain motivated and compassionate with a passion for ABA and a strong desire to empower children and families. Candidates must exhibit professionalism and experience in parent and staff training. Candidates must display the ability to build rapport with children and families. 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments 
  • Carry a caseload of 20 hours billable 
  • Develop and implement parent training and support programs
  • Provide field and/or virtual supervision for Behavior Technicians 
  • Provide support and mentorship for Behavior Technicians 
  • Develop, manage, and oversee Progress Reports and Treatment Plans 
  • Provide training and support to RBTs and BCaBA's 
  • Supervise ongoing ABA programs 
  • Manage the clients and therapists on assigned case 
  • Manage Data Collection, develop treatment plans and Behavior Intervention plans for families. 
  • Initial and/or continuing in-home and in-center client (re)assessments with a VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLLS, Vineland, etc.

Pay Range:

  • $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
