Child Behavior Therapist

Longmont, CO

About Our Company

The concept of Lighthouse began when Adam Potter was practicing Applied Behavior Analysis in Lafayette, CO. He found that ABA was limited in its ability to help clients with PTSD. He incorporated relaxation training into his behavioral work, with significant success. However, he found that some clients with intellectual disabilities had trouble learning relaxation techniques. In his search to resolve that barrier, he discovered biofeedback, which made it possible to teach relaxation without relying on verbal explanations. In the process of learning biofeedback, he discovered Neurofeedback. The benefit he personally received from that inspired him to get more training and also explore the world of Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation. In 2014, he began working with children using ABA, Neurofeedback, and NIBS. This allowed him to help his clients improve in ways that ABA alone often fell short. He started Lighthouse Neurofeedback and Behavior Analysis in 2016 in Colorado. Over time, Lighthouse began offering psychotherapy, family therapy, social work, and play therapy. The focus of treatment expanded to include the family unit for pediatric therapy. This was based on the recognition that the child’s growth often hinged on the health of the family system. By helping the family to function more optimally, the child’s healing and growth was more assured.

Child Behavior Therapist/RBT

The hours for this position are 11am-7pm, weekdays. Weekends are optional but highly preferred if you have weekly Saturday availability from 10am to 6pm (pay is higher for weekend hours). Full time is 5 days per week.

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to provide behavior therapy to children with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Previous experience with ABA is not required, but a love and dedication towards children and helping others is. Significant prior experience and/or RBT certification will result in higher initial pay.

Why Lighthouse?

The pay-per-hour listed is for every hour worked, you make the same whether you are billing or not. WE GUARANTEE YOUR HOURS! That means if a client cancels, you still work and get paid. You will not lose out on pay if the client cancels. We also pay for time driving (and reimburse for mileage). Other agencies list on Indeed what they pay for billable hours and then will not pay when a scheduled session is cancelled.

No ABA experience? No problem! We offer starting pay for individuals with no experience at $18/hr pay for classes, direct training, and we pay for testing so that you can earn your RBT certification in the first month or so of working at Lighthouse. We then provide our behavior therapists with a structured ABA training program where they learn beginning, intermediate, and advance behavior therapy skills while increasing their hourly pay.

We also have a structured BCBA training program/Internship for those that are ready to begin graduate coursework in ABA. Participants are eligible for salary and higher pay.

We provide behavior therapy to clients ages 2-12 with a range of disabilities. The position is full-time once training is completed, although we have part-time options for those with less availability.

Those that are interested may apply internally for neurotherapy positions in our growing Neurodevelopmental Treatment Program.

Lighthouse provides Applied Behavior Analysis to individuals within our center, the community, school, day care, and client's homes. What sets Lighthouse apart, aside from the range of settings and clientele we serve, is the multimodality approach we are able to offer our clients. This includes neurofeedback, biofeedback, psychotherapy, social work, play and family therapy. Having these options for additional services allows employees to collaborate with a team of other professionals within the company providing additional opportunities for growth and learning.

We are primarily seeking applicants that are able to work both in our early learning center located in Longmont and at clients' homes as well as in the community in surrounding areas (DL and reliable transportation required) with mileage reimbursement. We currently serve clients in Longmont, Erie, Firestone, Frederick, Louisville, Boulder, and other surrounding areas. Lighthouse offers many opportunities to grow within the company where full-time status may be achieved with access to full benefits. Full-time work is available to all applicants after initial training is completed.

Raises are available to those that participate and complete trainings we provide in advancing therapeutic skills. You can complete these as quickly as you like to increase your hourly pay. Salaried positions are available for those that complete all of these training modules and are in good standing with the company.
