Sovereign Care Services Pediatric Therapy Center is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals committed to providing functional and purposeful ABA Therapy in North Brunswick NJ for children 18 months-17 years old and adults 18-21 years old, with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD) diagnosis.

Position Description: 

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst is responsible for the following: ensuring the RBTs they supervise follow the board’s guidelines for ethical behavior, providing direction and oversight in order to increase the clinical competencies of the RBTs they supervise, and ensuring excellence in the delivery of all clinical services provided under their supervision. This is an hourly position.

Qualifications: 

  • Masters degree or higher from a nationally accredited university or equivalent in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field 
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst/Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst 
  • Licensure when applicable 
  • At least 3 years experience working with children with Autism or other developmental disabilities 
  • Pass Federal, State, and County background check
  • Experience in the use of software programs such as Microsoft Office and Central Reach highly preferred 

Job Functions (includes, but not limited to the following):

  • Conduct FBAs and develop Treatment Plans (to include collaboration with other service providers such as SLPs, OTs, etc. as applicable) 
  • Update plans and goals/targets as necessary and on the specific schedule provided by client’s insurance plan but no less than every 6 months
  • Train behavior technician to appropriately and successfully apply the principles of behavior through application of positive behavior intervention techniques 
  • Provide family training as clinically appropriate or when required by insurance plans. 
  • Maintain electronic supervision notes and documentation in Central Reach relevant to client’s insurance provider guidelines and company policy 
  • Provide ongoing training in behavior change techniques as needed to behavior technicians 
  • Provide positive and negative feedback during supervision to behavior technicians as necessary to ensure the treatment plan is carried out with integrity 
  • Communicate directly with behavior technicians and client’s family to schedule and/or cancel supervision visits and caregiver meetings in accordance with insurance requirements and company policies 
  • Maintain compliance with the BACB’s task list, including all ethical guidelines 
  • Maintain a professional relationship with behavior technicians, clients, and family members at all times 
  • Render all sessions in Central Reach by the close of the business day in which they were provided. This includes attaching the appropriate session note. 
  • Maintain electronic session notes in Central Reach
  • Communicate directly with the family (or relevant party) regarding scheduling and/or canceling sessions 
  • Keep a running tab of direct service hours and/or supervision hours each month to ensure you do not go over the allowable hours on the client’s authorization. (This information is accessible real-time via Central Reach). 
  • Design, write and disseminate behavior analytic programs and services to ABA therapists to increase functional skills, communication, and ADLS for vocal and non-vocal clients
  • Develop treatment plans and Behavior Intervention plans for families. 
  • Conduct Initial and/or continuing in-home and in-center client (re)assessments with a VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLLS, Vineland, etc. 
  • Provide supervision and support to BCBA Candidates
  • Provide ABA services in clinic, home, and school district settings 
  • Utilize BST to train R/BTs on program implementation with fidelity.
  • Work directly with client on your caseload as needed 

Treatment Plan Guidelines 

Treatment Plan requirements vary based on payer. Clinic Directors and Supervising Analysts will be provided with access to a shared spreadsheet that outlines each payer’s guidelines and requirements for initial treatment plans, updated treatment plans, and discharge plans. Ongoing training will be provided as well. It is the supervising analyst’s responsibility to ensure their treatment plans meet all payer requirements and medical necessity guidelines. Due dates for updated treatment plans and discharge plans will be tasked to the supervising analyst for each client on their caseload. These due dates are firm dates and given well in advance. It is the analyst’s responsibility to ensure the treatment plan update/discharge plan is completed by the due date. 

Supervision Guidelines and Policies 

BCBAs/BCaBAs must provide direct supervision in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB) guidelines as well as each insurance payer’s guidelines. These supervision sessions must be documented using Central Reach. If a behavior technician requests signed supervision hours as they are accruing their required supervision per the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Requirements, additional forms will be required and can be found on the board’s website. It is the behavior technician’s responsibility to gather documents and other relevant information required by and in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board in order to receive supervision that meets the board’s guidelines. The company is not responsible for payment to the BCBA or behavior technician for any additional time necessary to meet the board’s guidelines for supervision unless otherwise stipulated in writing. All requests for signed supervision hours must go through the respective Clinic Director in order to ensure appropriate contracts/agreements are in place.

  • (30 hours minimum) 
  • 100 % in person supervision
