Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to outline the compensation structure for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) employed by ZAC LLC. This policy ensures fair compensation, ethical practice, compliance with funding requirements, and sustainability of services while recognizing the professional responsibilities of BCBAs.
Employment Classification
BCBAs may be classified as:
- Full-time employees
- Part-time employees
Employment classification will be defined in the employee’s offer letter and is subject to organizational needs.
Compensation Structure
ZAC LLC utilizes a hybrid hourly compensation model, differentiating between billable and non-billable work hours.
Billable Hours
- Rate: $70.00 per hour
- Definition: Hours spent delivering reimbursable clinical services, including but not limited to:
Direct client supervision
Parent training sessions
Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
Treatment plan development when billable under payer guidelines
Clinical services eligible for reimbursement by funding sources
Non-Billable Hours
- Rate: $40.00 per hour
- Definition: Hours spent on required professional responsibilities not directly reimbursable, including:
- Documentation and clinical notes
- Treatment planning not reimbursed
- Staff supervision and training
- Team meetings
- Case collaboration
- Required administrative duties
- Professional development activities required by ZAC LLC
Productivity Expectations
- Minimum Billable Requirement: 27 billable hours per week
- BCBAs are expected to maintain consistent productivity while ensuring ethical and high-quality care.
- Productivity is reviewed weekly and monitored monthly.
Failure to meet productivity expectations consistently may result in:
- Performance improvement planning
- Schedule adjustment
- Review of employment status
Total Weekly Hours
Typical weekly schedules may include:
- 27 billable hours
- 8–10 non-billable hours
- Total: 35–37 hours per week
Actual hours may vary based on caseload, clinical needs, and organizational demands.
Timekeeping and Documentation
- All hours (billable and non-billable) must be accurately recorded using the organization’s designated timekeeping system.
- Misrepresentation of hours or services may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Productivity Incentives (Optional)
ZAC LLC may offer productivity incentives based on organizational capacity and funding availability.
Example:
- BCBAs exceeding 30 billable hours per week may be eligible for a productivity bonus ranging from $500–$1,000 per month.
Incentive programs are discretionary and may be modified or discontinued at the organization’s discretion.
