Sovereign Care Services Pediatric Therapy Center is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals committed to providing functional and purposeful therapy programming for children 18 months–17 years old and adults 18–21 years old, with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD) diagnosis.

Qualifications
- 1 year experience supporting child/youth/with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
- High School Diploma
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certification or willing to complete
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
- Willingness to commute to clients’ homes
- Access to a vehicle and Valid driver’s license and insurance
The Activity Specialist establishes relationships with children and their parents while providing a safe, pleasant and caring atmosphere during afterschool. Participation in Activities of Daily Living and Leisure activities allows individuals with autism to learn skills specific to a particular activity; these skills can be applied in general settings such as home, school and work.
Duties Include
- Engage participants in activities that promotes the development of Activities of Daily Living Skills (ADLs) and Leisure Skills.
- Interacting with children in an appropriate manner to ensure their dignity are upheld and provide opportunities to build self-esteem and confidence.
- Assist child/youth with self-care needs as necessary which may include (eating, toileting, dressing).
- Collaborate with site leadership in the planning, development and execution of quality, project-based youth development activities.
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with participants, families & members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide support through encouragement and delivering resources.
- Prepare related paperwork, materials and implementation supplies.
